Q: What are the minimum and maximum number of days a student can attend Strive?
A: Strive serves students who are suspended or transitioning between schools for 3-10 days. Students must attend a minimum of 3 days, or 50% of their assigned suspension if the suspension is longer than 5 days, in order to successfully complete Strive. We can also serve students on long-term suspensions a maximum duration of 10 days during their investigation and hearing period.
Q: Can a student attend Strive programming more than once?
A: Yes! Students can participate in Strive multiple times in the academic year as long as they have completed 10 academic days at their school since their last day in Strive .
Q: Does Boomerang provide transportation for students attending Strive?
A: Boomerang is not yet able to provide transportation to students participating in Strive. We can provide limited transportation assistance in the form of fuel cards on a case-by-case basis. Please talk with a program staff member for more information. We are continuing conversations with district members for additional transportation options.
Q: What are Strive’s program hours?
A: Strive runs from 9am-2pm. Students will work 1:1 with staff members, receive support on their academics as needed, and participate in social emotional learning activities.
Q: Does Boomerang provide language translation?
A: We partner with Language Line to provide phone interpretation services. We also provide in-person Spanish translation services with CHICLE when available.
Q: Does Boomerang provide transportation for students attending Strive?
